Someone needs to do this...

Even though I could never decorate my house in this romantic girly style (my boyfriend is a big manly man and would look just a wee bit akward wrapped in pink polka dot frilly sheets) I just adore it. It's so cozy. It makes me think of breakfast in bed and sleeping in late on Sundays.

On a side note, I finally got my Target upholstered chair I've been waiting for forever, and I absolutely HATE it. Maybe I'm color blind (I know for sure I didn't read the description well enough) but I thought the flowers were going to be a pale blue. They are instead grey, with dark grey depressing flowers all on a tan backdrop that looks like it's been dragged across the gravel. Sorry if you own this chair and love it...for you kids it's opposite day...but for me it's a disaster! To punish it, I've left it stuck suffocating inside it's box and will be returning it the first chance I get. I may even go so far as to take a sick day (I only have about a million built up which I am going to lose in a few weeks when we move) to drive the hour and ferry ride to Plattsburgh to return it. I don't want to sit and see if it's comfy, I don't want to make it work in another room, I don't want to keep it and allow it to mock me every day.

Has anyone else ordered something online that looked so cute but was miserable in person? Please...I can't be the only one.

first of all- I'm a new follower- LOVE the blog!

I'm single currently so I'm getting in my chunk of girly/pink decor since once you move in with a guy, it's goodbye adorable, hello denim-slipcovered nightmare! right?!

OHHH stink! The picture looked so cute on that chair. Oh well I know you will find something just as great as that pic seemed to be!

Ahhh, I love this bedroom pic, but my hubby wouldn't like it very much either. I need a house big enough to have a ladies only room :)

I have definitely ordered things online to have it arrive and be horrible. I hate when that happens.

Loving that girly look.

For some reason have never ordered anything like that before but know several people who have and do all the time!

Sorry that the chair did not work out. I can see how gray when you were expecting blue would be a disappointment!

Sorry to hear about the chair.

I really like that overly girlie style, but have the same problem as you - wouldn't match the man. hah

Oh how disappointing! If the chair you are talking about is the one on your "inspiration board," then it looks like blue flowers to me, too.

Bad Target. Bad, bad Target.

Thanks for visiting That Old House! I too think our house is pretty darned near perfect for us -- in spite of its many (MANY) flaws, and the giant sucking sound that is our money going into repairs and refurbisihings! My husband says we won't be able to retire till we're 80 at this rate.

And do you have a Cavalier? I think I saw one on your blog. . . we have owned Cavaliers for many years, right now have a lovely Blenheim boy named Dion who is outside helping my daughters weed right now. Well, they are weeding; he is sunbathing.

Nice to meet you! Good luck on your house projects!

Your blog is so cute! Sooo sorry to hear that the chair didn't work out - it must have been a huge letdown. Hopefully you can find something that is just perfect.

Thanks for stopping by our blog! :)

Oh, I'm totally getting the pink out of my system now while I'm still single b/c you are sooo right about not being able to swing it once you're attached!

My friends have ordered stuff online at Target and and it turned out totally cute, so I guess it cna be a little hit-or-miss. Good luck finding a new piece to replace it!!!

Hello- it's nice to meet you. Thank you for your lovely comment. I feel your pain on this issue. Hence I no longer order things online unless I've seen it in person before-hand! You mentioned you liked the pink ice cream bucket I found on etsy. It's available for purchase. Just click on the click in my blog and it's yours. It may say reserved for Brooke, but that's my friend & she doesn't want it. Her loss is your gain. Have a lovely day sweetie :)

that is what scares me about ordering things online, you never know for sure. of course, i've also bought things that look good in the store, but once i get it home it totally doesn't look the way i thought it would look! annoying, but it's part of decorating...

I need a little girl just to have an excuse to decorate ultra girly.

I'm sad about the Target chair. Target usually never disappoints.

I love this look too. My husband is slowly retreating as I inch more and more girly things into our room. He's slowly giving up!
